Filling in for George Noory, John B. Wells was joined for the entire program by British astronomer Dr. David Darling for a discussion about some strange ways our world could be brought to a 'megacatastrophic' end. According to Darling, a likely population-ending scenario involves a biological pandemic, something similar to the Plague. "There's a real problem that [a virus or bacteria] is going to develop total drug resistance... and be highly infectious as well," he said. Darling estimated that a highly-virulent, untreatable infection could wipe out half of the people on the planet in weeks.
Darling reported on a possible nanotechnological nightmare known as the 'gray goo' scenario, in which self-replicating, microscopic robots evolve past their programmed purposes to consume all matter on Earth, as well as what would happen should the Yellowstone supervolcano explode. Such an eruption would have 10,000 times the destructive force of Mount St. Helens, he revealed, noting that a minimum of 1,000 cubic kilometers (a box six miles across on each side) of material would be thrown into the atmosphere. North America would be buried under feet of ash and virtually uninhabitable, Darling said. "It will erupt again... this is a certainty," he added.
In light of an asteroid due to pass by Earth next February, Darling speculated on what could happen if a space object about 50 yards across entered the planet's atmosphere and exploded above a major city. It would have the force of many Hiroshimas and destroy much of the area, he explained, likening it to the Tunguska event of 1908. Darling also talked about threats from a forthcoming ice age, explosions on the Sun that could wipe out our technology and set us back decades, as well as direct computer-human connections and how software viruses may one day infect our brains.

SIGHTINGS
Filling in for George Noory on Friday night, Rob Simone ( email) welcomed British police detective Gary Heseltine for a discussion on UFO sightings by law enforcement officers in the United Kingdom. Heseltine recalled an impactful UFO experience he had as a teenager, in which a flying bright white light caused the power grid to shut off as it moved slowly and silently over his town. Heseltine said he began compiling other credible UFO accounts from police officers, pilots, and even astronauts, out of frustration for how the mainstream media had trivialized their puzzling experiences. He presented several cases he has gathered over the past 10 years.
In an account from 1979, three police officers patrolling a rural area outside of London reported a flash of light off in the distance, Heseltine relayed. Five minutes later an object the size of a soccer field appeared in the skies above them about a 1/4 mile away and only 500 feet above the ground, he continued. The object reportedly shined a beam onto the terrain, had several smaller objects flying around it, and vanished in the blink of an eye, Heseltine added. A case from 1969 chronicles a police constable who claimed to have witnessed nine pearl white objects traveling in a v-formation. According to Heseltine, this account was corroborated by several other officers, all of whom were told by commanders to not discuss what they had seen.
Heseltine estimated that about 72% of his UFO files are multiple officer cases—a fact that makes these accounts indisputable in his mind. Superiors often tell officers to keep quiet about unusual sightings, and sometimes evidence gets lost, he noted. As an example, he talked about a 2006 case involving a police helicopter crew that reported seeing a UFO. Heseltine later uncovered that the log entry for this incident had mysteriously vanished from the records. Some hard evidence does exist though. Dashboard camera footage from 2003 shows a police officer in pursuit of a cluster of bright white lights that suddenly disappear, he revealed. Heseltine also shared the Alan Godfrey abduction story.
Open Lines:
During Open Lines, Rob offered a special hotline for law enforcement officials to report on their bizarre sightings. Tony, a retired police officer from Slidell, Louisiana, recounted a strange nighttime encounter he had as a teen while at local hangout called the Gravel Pits. Tony said a friend had called him over to see something, and when he got there he saw an extraterrestrial life form. The being stood 4 1/2 feet tall, had a flat triangular-shaped head, and disappeared as soon as they rushed him, Tony explained. Shortly afterward the radio reported a UFO in the area, he added. Jason in New Hampshire described seeing what appeared to be a blue 'X' floating toward him. Each line of the 'X' was about a foot-and-a-half long, it moved slowly at around two miles per hour, and traveled about seven feet before vanishing, Jason recalled. Tomi from Huston, Texas, reported on a 1993 sighting of v-shaped objects that changed color from green to bright white, briefly flew in formation , then broke apart.

Chris Dunn has used his machinist's point of view to analyze the purpose and function of the Giza pyramids. Brien Foerster, who lives in Peru, has been a student of ancient cultures. Together, on Monday night, the two discussed some of the mysterious ancient ruins and lost technologies in Peru and Bolivia, as well as the ancient elongated skulls in the area. Foerster hypothesized that when the Incas found the location of Cuzco (in Peru), they decided to build a city there because there were already huge megalithic structures at the site, possibly created thousands of years earlier. The only tools the Incas had were bronze chisels and stone hammers, yet some of the buildings were so finely made, it's impossible they were constructed with those tools. Perhaps they had "some type of vibrational technology several thousand years ago that we don't even have today," said Foerster.
Dunn studied the stones at Cuzco with David Hatcher Childress, and noted that the repairs made to the earlier culture's work looked primitive in comparison to the original. The Inca used a sophisticated construction with interlocking blocks, so the stones were bound together with precision, he continued. The two also spoke about the ancient and enigmatic ruins in Puma Punku, Bolivia-- the only way you could describe some of the artifacts there is that they were cut on a machine because they were so precise, said Dunn.
Foerster talked about his research into the fascinating elongated skulls of Peru. While some were definitely the product of deliberate cranial deformation, farther back in time there were people in the area who naturally had these huge cone-shaped skulls, and the later nobility sought to emulate their ancestors by binding their skulls to create this shape, he suggested (view related video). Dunn also shared an update on his research of the Egyptian pyramids, and spoke about photos from last year that revealed mysterious markings and possible evidence for electrical devices in a hidden chamber of the Great Pyramid

While the jobless rate has gone down a couple percentage points, the quality of the new jobs is poor, he commented. There's been a small rebound in credit, but in general, businesses aren't expanding, and the overall environment is deflationary, he continued. And while the stock market has recovered, it hasn't done anything for the average person's wages, he added.

In the first half of Tuesday's show, UFO contactee Wilbur Allen shared updates and evidence from various UFO sightings and incidents. He recently analyzed some 1969 16mm footage from Apollo 11 that was filmed outside the command module. It "shows without a doubt the formation of luminous green anomalies," similar to objects he encountered outside the US Capitol building in July of 2002, he said. Four days after his sighting, a couple reported seeing a green fireball flying over the Capitol dome, he added. Based on his research, he's concluded that many UFOs have the ability to cloak themselves, though their images can be picked up by some of the newer digital cameras.
Allen believes we are in the midst of a transition, with ETs infiltrating our society-- they have technology to travel through walls, and may well have bases inside large caverns, he suggested. Some of their craft appear as small as a garden pea, yet on the inside they could be as large as New York City, he intriguingly posited. According to his studies, there's been an evolution in ET spacecraft technology with a move toward using antigravity. He described his "superconscious mind tap technique" as a cleansing that raises the quality of a soul's energy, as well as the notion of "conscious dying," in which a person faces death without fear, and has awareness of both the physical world, and the nonphysical one they've just entered. Interestingly, he noted that a person can have an IBE (in-the-body-experience), which has all the characteristics of an OBE except they stay within the parameters of the physical body, yet can use their "astral senses" to experience the "fifth dimension."
Regarding alien abductions, Goldberg suggested that the ETs use "fifth dimension travel techniques," tearing the fabric of space-time to move through solid walls, and take people back to their craft or base (see illustration). He also talked about "paragression," which in contrast to past life regression or progression, takes people to a life in a parallel universe where everything looks similar to here, but events have played out differently. GALAXIE & COSMOLOGY
Galaxies & Cosmology:
On Monday's show, Astronomy Professor Chris Impey discussed the structure of galaxies, exoplanets, the Big Bang, and various other topics in astronomy and cosmology. Regarding the size of the universe, "the current view in the expanding Big Bang picture is that the distance to the edge...as well as we can measure, is about 40 billion light years," he said. The universe in its earliest state consisted primarily of just two elements, hydrogen and helium, and it took a long time for heavier elements to develop, he continued. An earth-like planet could have developed 6-7 billion years ago, "but I don't think we could even imagine a life-form that is a billion years more advanced than us...we don't have the evolution ourselves to imagine it," he noted.
New discoveries of exoplanets are helping to expand our knowledge of the formation of solar systems, and two systems that were recently found have a similar number of planets to ours, Impey reported. Planets are the residue of star formation, happening at the outskirts, he detailed, while our moon, it's hypothesized, may have been formed when a Mars-type object collided with a primeval Earth (moon rocks tend to support this theory). The gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn are like mini-solar systems themselves with rings and moons that probably formed around the same time.
There are around 100 million Earth-like planets in just the Milky Way alone, he estimated, and if you multiply that by the number of galaxies-- 100 billion, you have a staggering number of possibilities for life. After about a trillion years, the universe will fade to black, but interestingly, Impey suggested that "a dark universe doesn't have to be a dead universe." An intelligent species doesn't need to get their energy from starlight, but instead could tap gravitational energy, he surmised.

On Thursday night, author, educator, and OBE expert, Rick Stack, discussed the Seth material, as channeled by Jane Roberts into numerous books. He personally attended over 100 Seth sessions given in Jane Roberts' classes in Elmira, NY in the 1970s. Seth, a non-physical entity, who spoke through Jane, is credited by many to have kicked off the New Age movement, with his central thesis that you create your own reality (which is similar to more recent 'Law of Attraction'). Seth said that our own thoughts, emotions, and beliefs construct our reality, and there is now scientific evidence that the power of thought can affect matter, Stack pointed out.
Seth also talked about how our souls are part of a larger identity, and that all time is simultaneous such that the whole array of our past and future reincarnated lives exist together, and we can potentially interact with them in dreams and out-of-experiences (OBEs). In books such as The Nature of Personal Reality, Seth guides people to understanding their belief systems, finding joy in their lives, and seeing themselves as gods-in-training. Interestingly, Stack reported that currently in Taiwan, Dr. Tien-Sheng Hsu is using the Seth material to help heal people.
Seth said people could spiritually evolve through lucid dreaming and OBEs (he did not make a large distinction between the two). Stack shared some of his personal OBEs, and techniques for achieving them. For instance, he'll wake himself up after 4 hours of sleep, and then sit in a chair and give himself the suggestion that he will have an OBE and bring his waking consciousness with him wherever he goes.

On Thursday's show, investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe discussed four different topics. In her first report, she interviewed James Bamford who revealed startling details for a Wired.com article about how the National Security Agency (NSA) has turned its surveillance apparatus on the U.S. and its citizens, and is building a 1 million square foot data center in Utah that will have the ability "to collect and sift through billions of email messages and phone calls, whether they originate within the country or overseas." Bamford described his interview with former NSA administrator William Binney, who said while holding his thumb and forefinger close together, "we are that far from a turnkey totalitarian state."
In June of 2011, a Swedish treasure hunting company using side scan sonar picked up a very odd, round object about 200 feet in diameter on the bottom of the Baltic Sea, along with a second unknown object. Linda spoke with Peter Lindberg, of Stockholm, Sweden who made the discovery. Leading to or from both unidentified objects are tracks or skid marks implying the objects impacted together, and Lindberg suggested it could potentially have been an asteroid rather than a UFO. Compounding the mystery are straight lines on the large round object and arches that look like structure on the second object. Lindberg and his company plan to return to the site with more sophisticated gear in hopes of identifying the mysterious objects. Further details.
People in Clintonville, Wisconsin have been reporting earth-shaking, window-rattling booms since Sunday night, March 18, for three nights into Wednesday, March 21. Similar booms have also been heard in other states such as Michigan, Georgia, and Maine. Clintonville City Administrator Lisa Kuss told Linda, "We have checked gas lines, sewers, water pressures and consulted with meteorologists, seismologists, U. S. military, utilities experts and mining companies, but have come up empty-handed." Though there was a small earthquake reported in Clintonville on March 20th, this doesn't explain the similar booms heard in disparate locations.
For her 4th report, Linda interviewed nuclear engineer Arnie Gundersen, who explained how the Japanese are mixing the radioactive debris from the Fukushima incident with tons of non-radioactive debris and calling it "diluted" enough to be safe, which he considers to be absurd. A highly radioactive rabbit was found 60 miles away from Fukushima, he noted, adding that a certain percentage of the radioactivity has drifted over the Pacific Ocean and can be measured in detectable amounts, particularly in the Cascade Range of the United States.
