On Sunday night's program, George Knapp was joined by ufologist
Grant Cameron, who discussed his analysis of government leaks into the classified world of UFOs. Historian and UFO researcher
Richard Dolan appeared in the first half of the 2nd hour to talk about Cameron's new book and aviator
John Lear
joined the conversation in the second half of the 3rd hour. Cameron
observed that UFO revelations often follow a pattern where researchers
examine the information, then it becomes discredited, and "everybody
just drops the story" in search of the next big disclosure. However, he
refuted the idea that these are patently false stories planted by the
government and suggested that, in fact, they contain accurate
information which is then smeared with disinformation via holes in the
story that have been created ahead of time.
Furthering his thesis on these UFO disclosures, Cameron posited that the
government is "putting the information out, but they are keeping the
coverup going" by subsequently discrediting it. Additionally, he
theorized that the era of UFO whistleblowers is over and anyone claiming
to be such a witness is "working for them." To that end, he said that,
since the government would easily be able to identify any 'anonymous'
whistleblower, then the person must be revealing these secrets at the
behest of the 'powers that be.' Cameron also contended that "all leaked
documents are phony," because they are classified material and the
government would swiftly arrest anyone who breached that official
secrecy.
In the first half of the third hour, aviator John Lear joined the
conversation to reflect on the Bob Lazar Area 51 revelations and how
they may have fit into this plan of action by the government. He
recalled how Lazar had been asked about his friendship with Lear during
his second interview for the Area 51 job. As such, he surmised that the
entire saga was initiated by the government, since they knew Lazar would
eventually leak the information to him. While Cameron conceded that
Lazar's academic history has been shown to be false, thus allowing for
the government to dismiss his claims, he noted that the notorious
whistleblower passed numerous lie detector tests and his accurate
information about Area 51 is what allowed for the story to ultimately be
revealed.
Appearing during the first half of the second hour, historian Richard
Dolan, who is publishing Cameron's new book (co-authored with Scott
Crain), called it "possibly the single best book, best I've ever read,
dealing with inside government leaks from credible sources about the
reality of the UFO phenomenon." Regarding the theory that the government
leaks accurate information and then discredits it, Dolan noted that it
represents the ideal way of getting UFO secrets out to the general
public without "destabilizing the whole system."
Star People Encounters:
In the first hour,
Ardy Sixkiller Clarke detailed
her research into Native American encounters with Star People. Since
tales of alien encounters have been passed down for generations amongst
Native Americans, she said that such stories are treated as normal
events even in contemporary times. Clarke professed absolute belief in
the veracity of the stories she was told by various Native Americans,
who had these paranormal encounters, and stressed that they were "alert
recollections" told to her rather than tales procured via hypnosis or a
dream state. Over the course of her appearance, she shared stories of
modern Native American UFO and alien encounters as well as insights into
Skinwalkers and Sasquatch.
I'm interested in UFOs, ufology, close encounters and other paranormal events. Read on to learn more!

NEW ZEALAND TALES;
Joining George Knapp on Sunday night, New Zealand broadcaster and author, Ray Waru ( book link), discussed intriguing stories from New Zealand archives. He was given access to thousands of boxes that included records of secret tsunami-causing weapons, grisly exhibits from murder trials, and famous UFO sightings. Waru uncovered documents about 'Project Seal,' a joint US-New Zealand effort begun in 1944 to potentially create huge tsunami or tidal waves that could damage coastal cities or military sites. A US naval officer named Gibson came up with the idea when he noticed that unexpectedly large waves were produced when using explosions to clear coral reefs for military installations.
Some 4,000 experimental explosions were conducted off New Caledonia island, and while the tests showed promise using an array of explosions near the surface, its use as a tsunami weapon was shelved after the nuclear attacks on Japan, he recounted, suggested that the procedure had likely been developed for potential use against Japan during WWII. Waru delved into documents about UFO sightings in New Zealand that dated as far back as 1909, when a kind mystery "airship" described as a long black object was repeatedly seen. The pilot/adventurer Francis Chichester, who conducted the first solo flight between New Zealand and Australia in 1931, told of an encounter with a "dull grey-white airship" that almost collided with him during the flight.
Waru detailed the 1978 Kaikoura Lights sightings, in which pilots saw unexplained lights that seemed to move around their aircraft, and the objects were tracked by Wellington radar. Subsequently, a TV crew took the same route as the original flight, and saw and captured the mysterious lights on film, he reported. He also spoke about viewing a letter written by the great 18th century navigator Capt. James Cook, the treatment of the Maori in New Zealand, and a dolphin that guided ships in a stretch of water between two islands.

UFOs VISITATIONS .
Timothy Green Berkley
talked about both vintage and recent UFO cases, as well as contact
incidents with alien-type beings. His publishing company has been
reintroducing 40-50 year-old UFO books to a new generation, with
introductions and updated material added by current writers (for
example:
Two Golden Age Flying Saucer Classics).
Regarding the classic George Adamski contactee case, in which he
claimed to meet and telepathically communicate with a tall,
blonde-haired Venusian stepping out of his ship, Beckley's friend, the
late Harold Sulken, who knew Adamski well, indicated that there was some
truth to his encounter, but a lot of Adamski's photos and films were
fabricated. Interestingly, Beckley suggested that the contactee movement
of the 50s helped to fuel interest in space travel.
He recalled a conversation he had with astronaut Gordon Cooper, who told him that he'd been given a film that showed an aerial craft that didn't appear to be built on Earth. But when Cooper gave the footage to the Pentagon he never saw or heard about it again. Beckley conjectured that alien intelligences or "ultraterrestrials" don't necessarily hail from other planets, and could be here to help us along, or conversely trying to trick us. Some of the phenomena related to aliens/UFOs is visionary and fantastic, and while it might not point to the extraterrestrial hypothesis, it could tell us something about our own minds, he said. Beckley also touched on USOs (unidentified submersible objects), and cited a Florida incident in which two men said their car was sucked up by a UFO, and one of them was taken to an underwater facility, where he could actually see through the clear walls of the base.
In the latter half, unorthodox ufologist Norio Hayakawa discussed his research into the mysteries of Dulce, New Mexico, and the UFO question. It's been alleged that there's an underground base in Dulce that is jointly run by the US government and ETs. While no physical evidence has emerged to prove that there's a base there, there is circumstantial evidence that points to something there, he said. The US government may have connections in that area, in terms of experimentation, and disposal of waste from black budget projects, he continued. On Dec. 10, 1967, the Atomic Energy Commission exploded a nuclear device underground about 22 miles from Dulce (called Project Gasbuggy), right next to the Jicarilla Apache Reservation. Radiation leaked out after the experiment and led to high rates of cancer and infertility in the Dulce area, he reported.
Hayakawa spoke of his friendship with the late Gabe Valdez, a retired New Mexico State Police officer who investigated cattle mutilations. He believed there was a secret governmental facility on the Dulce mesa, and that the govt. was perhaps staging UFO incidents with holographic projections, as a diversion to cover actual activities like biowarfare experimentation. Hayakawa said he's become more skeptical about UFO photos after such heralded images as the 1957 Brazilian Navy photo and the 1990 Belgian triangle image were declared to be hoaxes. He expressed admiration for researchers John Keel and Jacques Vallee who thought out of the box on the UFO issue, and concluded that rather than coming from other planets, 'aliens' may be from another realm or dimension that can intersect with ours.

HOBBIT
New Fossils Help Bring Hobbit Humans to Life
A reconstruction of a Hobbit face.
Susan Hayes, University of Wollongong
New bones attributed to Homo floresiensis -- aka the
"Hobbit Human" -- along with other recent findings, are helping to
reveal what members of this species looked like, how they behaved, and
their origins.
The latest findings, described in a Journal of Human Evolution paper, are wrist bones unearthed on the Indonesian island of Flores. Since they are nearly identical to other such bones for the Hobbit found at the site, they refute claims that H. floresiensis never existed.
"The tiny people from Flores were not simply diseased modern humans," Caley Orr, lead author of the paper, told Discovery News.
"The new species of human stood approximately 3' 6" tall, giving it its nickname 'The Hobbit,'" continued Orr, who is an assistant professor in the Department of Anatomy at Midwestern University.
He said that they were "similar to modern humans in many respects." For example, he explained that they walked on two legs, had small canine teeth, and lived what appears to have been an iconic "cave man'" lifestyle.
"Stone tools and evidence of fire use were found in the cave, along with the remains of butchered animals, such as Stegodon (an extinct elephant relative), indicating that meat was a part of diet," Orr said.
He and his colleagues, however, also point out the differences between the Hobbit individuals and modern humans.
The Hobbits had arms that were longer than their legs, giving them a slightly more ape-like structure. Their skulls had no bony chins, so their faces had more of an oval shape. Their forehead was sloping. The inferred brain size was tiny, putting them in the IQ range of chimpanzees.
"Remarkably, the feet were also long relative to the legs, as fantasy fans might expect of a Hobbit," he added.
The Hobbit's wrist looked like that of early human relatives, such as Australopithecus, but the key ancestral candidate now is Homo erectus, "Upright Man."
It is possible that a population of H. erectus became stranded on the Indonesian island and dwarfed there over time. Orr said that "sometimes happens to larger animals that adapt to small island environments."
A problem, however, is that H. erectus is somewhat more modern looking than the Hobbit, so researchers are still seeking more clues.
Another question concerns whether or not the Hobbits ever mated with modern humans. There is evidence that happened to Neanderthals, which have left traces of their genome in modern human DNA. So far, however, conditions have not been right to extract DNA from H. floresiensis bones.
Nonetheless, the Hobbit -- which went extinct relatively recently during the Pleistocene -- is now better known due to the new discoveries.
"These fossils provide further, clear evidence that H. floresiensis is in no way a pathological modern human, or that its primitive morphology is related simply to its small body size," said Tracy Kivell, a paleoanthropologist from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. "Instead, it is clearly its own, unique and very intriguing species."
Kivell added, "What is particularly interesting is that H. floresiensis is associated with such a long, well-documented history of stone tools. (Its primitive hand and wrist were) still apparently capable of making and using stone tools, suggesting that H. floresiensis solved the morphological and manipulative demands of tool-making and tool-use in a different way than Neanderthals and ourselves."
Orr and his team continue to study the Hobbit humans, with at least one other paper about the interesting species in the works.

LIBERATION OF THE PLANET;
Liberation of the Planet:
Filling in for George, John B. Wells welcomed the man code-named Cobra, who for 35 years has been in contact with an underground movement, resisting the dark forces attempting to control humanity. UFO contactee Rob Potter also joined the discussion about the nature of the dark forces, the havoc they have wreaked on Earth, and how the resistance movement is on the brink of a major breakthrough. Potter spoke about a recent trip to Egypt that he and Cobra led, and how they conducted meditations and "activations" at sites such as the Sphinx, and captured some unusual photographs of orbs, and other objects. They lit the Queen's Chamber at the Great Pyramid with a rose quartz crystal and Cobra started speaking in Pleiadian, he reported.
Joining the show for about an hour, Cobra chose to speak with his voice masked by electronic modulation due to safety concerns. He described his contacts with an advanced underground civilization, the "Agartha Network," who are connected with the Pleiadians and other ET races. This network is helping to stabilize the situation on Earth, and has prevented WWIII and nuclear attacks from occurring, he explained. Cobra, who also claims to be in communication with beings from Planet X that are assisting in the resistance movement, said we are nearing the time when a galactic prophecy will unfold-- "a galactic network of light will be completed, and darkness will be no more."
Potter filled in details on the identity of some of the dark forces. There are free floating Reptilian forms in the astral plane that have the ability to attach themselves to human auras and create negative, emotional conflicts, he said, as well as 'Archons,' beings mostly from the Orion system that have incarnated as humans and infiltrated positions of power. Potter and Cobra believe that Pleiadian technologies developed by the late Fred Bell, such as pyramid crystals and lasers can help the heal the planet.

SLIDE SHOW
Take a deep breath; Dec 21, 2012 is behind us. The Mayan calendar end-of-world debacle is over: zip, zilch, gone!
The silliness, anxiety, and paranoia leading up to the predicted end of times was so bad that on Dec. 21st -- the appointed doomsday -- a worried citizen left a message on my office phone that accused me of skipping town to escape Armageddon.
SLIDE SHOW: Top 5 Plans to Ensure the Continuity of our Species
If history is any example, the next cosmic doomsday prediction is always right around the corner. The Mayan blowout was just the latest in many centuries of bad calls by prognosticators who have the audacity to think they can divine the End of Everything.
So, to be a little preemptive, let's look at just three cosmic events that might start another pop culture panic. Thankfully these aren't born out of mythology, psychics, and misinterpreted archeoastronomy. They are real events that will inevitably be embellished by the imaginations of modern day soothsayers.
The Comet of the Century
Last September, the International Scientific Optical Network (ISON) near Kislovodsk, Russia, discovered comet C/2012 S1 (ISON). Though its closest approach to Earth is a year away, the celestial visitor is already billed as the "comet of the century." That's because it may be a first-time visitor to the solar system that will warm and then erupt with a lot of outgassing from pristine ices.
ANALYSIS: New Comet Discovered -- Will It Be Spectacular?
On Nov. 28, 2013 the comet will skim above the sun's surface at a distance slightly greater than the separation of the Earth and moon. Not doubt there will be pseudoscience predictions of the comet wreaking havoc by raising tides on the sun. The exact opposite will be the case. The sun's tidal pull could tear apart the comet into small pieces, as has been the case for previous sungrazer-class comets.
Comet ISON is due to pass within 37 million miles of Earth in January 2014. I'm expecting to see all types of outrageous claims that the object's feeble gravity will yank on Earth to trigger volcanoes and earthquakes.
Comet ISON has been compared with the Great Comet of 1680 (in above illustration) which, according to contemporary accounts, caused New Yorkers to be "overcome with terror at a sight in the heavens such as has seldom greeted human eyes." A day of fasting and humiliation was set-aside in order that "the wrath of God might be assuaged."
Likewise, soothsayers will quickly note that the comet will be at it brightest one month before Christmas 2013. "This comet, if it lives up to its billing, certainly could point to the glorious soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven!" predicts one religious website.
The fact that the comet is anticipated to get as bright as the moon will only fuel religious and mystical speculation about its timing and significance as an omen. Chill out folks, it's just another 4 billion year-old primeval chunk of ice from the solar system's deep freeze, the Oort cloud.
Asteroid Apophis
NASA keeps cataloging more Earth-threatening asteroids every year. But the asteroid Apophis, named after the Egyptian spirit of evil and destruction, is legendary because it will be a record-breaker.
On April, Friday the 13th of 2029 Apophis will skim below the orbits of communication satellites and briefly be a naked-eye object scooting over the mid-Atlantic ocean.
SLIDE SHOW: Top 10 Ways to Stop an Asteroid
Earth's gravity will deflect the comet's trajectory. The worst-case scenario is that the chances of it striking Earth on its return on April 13, 2036 will increase to 1 in 5,500.
Apophis is the length of over three football fields. It packs enough kinetic energy to wipe out 10 million people with the power of 100,000 Hiroshima sized atomic bombs. Even in this worst case scenario a direct hit would not obliterate all life on the planet. But it certainly would not be a good day for the human race.
People will get very squeamish over the possibility of Apophisgeddon despite the best low-probability collision estimate from astronomers. Parallels no doubt will be drawn to Biblical prophecy. This is especially true because the potentially destructive path of the asteroid crosses Middle East. South America and the west coast of Africa are also along the ground track.
Congress might even debate if steps should be taken to deflect the asteroid. But given that so many legislators are tone-deaf to global warming, I wouldn’t expect any preemptive actions to be funded.
Planetary Grand Alignment
Like clockwork so-called planetary grand alignments have taken place in 1962, 1982, and 2000. This does not mean that the planets line up like pearls on a string. But they sort of gang up on one side of the sun within an angle of roughly 10 to 30 degrees -- so the definition is a but mushy.
The uneventful year 1128 A.D. saw one of the tightest planetary alignments. The doomsday best seller The Jupiter Effect in 1982 spelled out an improbable chain of events that would be triggered by the planets' tug-of-war with the sun: tides raised on the sun's surface would increase sunspot activity, build up the solar wind, that would effect Earth's weather, and subsequently, Earth's spin rate, which would then trigger earthquakes.
ANALYSIS: No Doomsday! The Quick Reference Guide
No geological disasters happened in 1982 short of a 6.0 magnitude earthquake that killed 1,500 people in Dhamar, northern Yemen. In fact the celestial alignment allowed for NASA to pull off the Voyager 2 "grand tour" of the four outer gas giant planets from 1979 to 1989.
Jupiter contains more mass than all the other planets combined, and yet it is still less than 1 percent of the sun's mass. Therefore Jupiter's influence on the sun is inconsequential.
Alien astronomers could measure Jupiter's gravitational tug as an insignificant 270 mile-per-hour cyclic change in the sun's radial velocity over the planet's 12-year orbital period. Only if Jupiter was moved so close to the sun that its orbital period was measured in days, would some serious tidal effects be seen. This is observed with so-called "hot Jupiters," the exoplanet WASP-18 being the most extreme case.
Running an ephemeris forward in time, with the ease of throttling H.G. Wells' time machine, the next closest thing to a grand alignment comes in 2163 (shown above). Unless we have bombed ourselves back to pre-Columbian society by then, people in 2163 will be too science savvy to give this any thought. They will be bemused by historical accounts of the feared Jupiter Effect by their science-illiterate ancestors.
What's ironic is that any casual surfing of the Internet shows that a lot of people are preoccupied with doom and gloom based on mythology, psychics, and patently flaky ideas. The real Earth-threats, such as global warming, seem to be too easily shrugged off as lacking solid scientific evidence. Go figure.

Go figure.

MONTANA UFOs
During Friday's program, researcher of unexplained phenomena Joan Bird presented information pertaining to the numerous sightings of UFOs around Montana. Bird cited a case involving UFOs shutting down nuclear missiles at a military base in the Big Sky State. Perhaps even scarier, she reported on a facility in Russia where a UFO apparently put its nuclear missile arsenal into launch mode for several seconds before deactivating them. Bird referenced the infamous 1950 Montana UFO Footage, noting how it played a starring role in the U.S. government's investigation of the phenomenon. According to Bird, investigators ultimately concluded that we were being visited by extraterrestrials of a vastly superior intellect to our own, but this information was never released to the general public.
Bird discussed a contactee case from 1932, when a man claimed to have boarded an alien craft with his younger brother. The visitations continued until 1961 and were reportedly very positive, as the extraterrestrial beings were friendly and looked like humans, she noted. Bird shared another contactee case from Montana, this one involving a prospector who encountered a 100-ft diameter craft hovering near his mining site. According to his account, a staircase came down from the craft and a man descended to ask for water. Bird said the prospector was invited to board the craft and, as in the 1932 case, indicated that the visitors were amiable. The beings told him that they have been coming to Earth and walking undiscovered among us for a long time, she added.
Bird acknowledged the existence of certain malevolent extraterrestrials but believes many are positive beings from whom humanity can learn and grow. She suggested that the terrifying aspects sometimes associated with alien contact could be a result of something Dr. John Mack called 'ontological shock,' or having one's concept of reality turned upside down. Bird believes humanity has begun gradually shifting away from scientific materialism to an awareness that everything comes from consciousness. The UFO/ET phenomena has much to teach us about this, she said. Bird also commented on the possibility of reverse engineered alien technology as well as Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's statement that Russian Presidents are given a secret file about extraterrestrials living among us.
